Grown, sun-dried, ground and hand-packed at our own unit — Kunjrao, Anand.
One family, one stubborn promise
Pushpam Foods didn’t begin in a boardroom — it began with a farmer determined to rebuild.
After an old family business collapsed under debt, our founder returned to the family land in Anand with one promise: to provide. The early years were hard — chili and tomato crops barely covered what was owed.
The turning point came in 2011. At the market he noticed drumstick farmers earning far more than he was, so he planted drumsticks himself — but nearly 70% of the crop ripens in the summer glut, when prices collapse. Searching for a way to preserve and sell beyond Gujarat, a suggestion from his sister in the USA led him toward exports, and, while researching, to a book on the moringa “miracle tree” by Dr. Monica Marcu.
“That one book changed everything.”
Lab tests confirmed what tradition always knew: drumstick and moringa are quietly extraordinary — rich in iron, calcium and vitamin C. He had a remarkable product; what he lacked was awareness and a budget. That changed in May 2013, when then-Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Narendra Modi visited his stall at an agriculture exhibition in Kheda and invited him to present the innovation in Gandhinagar. With the state’s support, drumstick reached government schools and mid-day meals — and from 2015, Pushpam Foods found its feet.
Today — recognised as a DPIIT startup and trusted in national programmes for malnutrition, TB care, maternal health and COVID relief — we still do it the same way: grow, sun-dry, grind and pack at our own unit in Kunjrao, Anand, never outsourced. And we keep innovating for modern life, with wholesome moringa refreshments like Choco Latte and Mango Punch.
One clarification we love to make: drumstick is the pod-vegetable of the moringa tree, and moringa powder is the leaf — two gifts from one tree.
From a farmer's idea to a national name
We turn the drumstick pod into a fine everyday powder — rich in iron, calcium & vitamin C.

From our fields, into a spoonful
We don’t just grow moringa and drumstick — we transform them. Leaf and pod are sun-dried and gently milled into pure, everyday nutrition, right at our own unit in Anand.
Changing the food landscape — we have done it before
Back in 2011 we were the first to turn drumstick — the pod of the moringa tree — into a fine, everyday powder, making its iron, calcium and vitamin C easy to use in any kitchen. After we showed our work to the then-Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi, in 2013, drumstick was encouraged in government schools and included in the state's mid-day meals.
What we stand for
A few promises we have kept since day one.
